1.3: A Basic Introduction To German

Basic German words may not seem so basic to some, but it gets easy with practice. This review is just what you need to wrap up the first unit. Some of you may have skipped over the sample audio portion of the newsletter sign up page. That is why I have placed it here again, not to be a nuisance, but so we may learn a second time. You will forget a language if you do not speak it, so let us start speaking.

So far we have learned that it is crucial to approach a second language with a clear mind. There is a major difference in learning a second language. Can you think of the answer? We come to learn a second language with an idea of how things should be run. Learning our native language was not hard because we had nothing to fall back on or compare too. Do not become restless though.

Listen to the basic German words in the audio sample below. Everything is said slowly so that you may understand and follow along. You can sit here all day and play it over and over if you wish.
